Leonard Cohen Ten New Songs
You can't rush a poet, and Cohen took nine years to write Ten New Songs. It was worth the wait. Although the tone of these odes and meditations is mournful, at the age of 67 Cohen's pessimism about the human condition is tempered with reconciliation. He'll never be cheerful, but a Zen-like serenity pervades every song.
