I discovered Martha Grimes and her wonderful books only recently, 1999. The first book I read was Rainbow's End and I was hooked. After some research I discovered that she had written many other books in the Richard Jury series that I had yet to devour. Unfortunately, many of her books were out of print. So I began my journey to get my hands on every one of her books.
